Code Blue Program: Shelters of Saratoga
Hearts for
the Homeless
Hearts for the Homeless is a mutual aid group created by Cianna Stovall in attempts to raise money to provide for the homeless population of Saratoga Springs, NY.
What We Are Doing
Our main goal as of right now is to set up a box in town for the homeless to take items as needed. Socks, underwear, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products, granola bars, and other things of that nature. We are not looking for canned goods or non-perishable items such as pasta, we are donating things that people without access to a kitchen can use. We will be to partnering with multiple Skidmore clubs and Saratoga Springs companies, like Shelters of Saratoga, and do our best to raise money for the creation of the box and things to put inside. We also welcome donations of any items listed below.
As a group, we meet once a week in Case Center. All are welcome! During our group meetings we will talk about different topics about homelessness in the United States, how to raise money, and figure out other projects to work on. We can find articles that are optional reads and just talk about our findings. This is a huge issue and we would like to help further educate the community about this topic.
